PENNSYLVANIA, JANUARY 2023. Gateway International Group announces the successful school of record partnership between Spanish Institute for Global Education (Seville, Spain) and the University of Montana.

Brokered by Gateway, this partnership provides that subjects offered by the Spanish Institute shall be awarded academic credit by the University of Montana, College of Humanities, Department of World Languages & Culture, and for internship and service-learning, the UM Global Leadership Initiative.

This school of record agreement (SOR) has the potential to increase the Spanish Institute’s access to U.S. college and university students through credit transfer, increase enrollment, and further augment its reputation. This new school of record partnership offers an opportunity for greater numbers of students to study in Spain for academic credit that will be recognized in the U.S.

According to Maria Teresa Alonso, the president of Spanish Institute for Global Education, “After 40 years of operation in Seville, we look forward to new growth and dynamism in the education abroad marketplace through our new partnership with the University of Montana.

Echoing this sentiment, Donna Anderson, the executive director of  Global Engagement Office at the University of Montana stated, “The University of Montana is proud to serve as the recording institution for the Spanish Institute for Global Education. Students here at UM and across the country can now earn academic credit while developing language and cultural skills needed to strengthen ties and promote understanding between different cultures.
