Gateway’s Professional Career Coaching services are offered as a bundled package designed for professionals seeking new opportunities in international higher education. Services begin with a confidential application process followed by a detailed intake session with a dedicated Professional Career Coach. Throughout the process, you’ll enhance your professional presence with individual coaching modules and receive insights from a senior executive search consultant. Gateway offers ongoing support to guide you through the job search process, ensuring you have the resources to confidently pursue your next career opportunity.
Approved applicants will be paired with a Professional Career Coach who will conduct a thorough intake process to understand your individual goals and focus areas. This initial meeting includes a discussion of shared roles and responsibilities in the coaching process, along with instructions for a DiSC behavioral assessment, featuring Everything DiSC® on Catalyst and Everything DiSC® Management. (Additional assessment reports, such as Work of Leaders and Productive Conflict are available upon request and for an additional fee.)
Your Professional Career Coach will facilitate four interrelated coaching modules designed to enhance your professional presence and equip you with the tools and insights necessary to navigate your career path with clarity and confidence. Each session will be 60 minutes.
In this first module, your Professional Career Coach will debrief your assessment results and guide you through reflective exercises to gain deeper insight into your strengths, values, and professional identity.
This module helps you craft a powerful leadership statement that clearly communicates your core values and vision as a professional.
This module focuses on strengthening your professional brand. You’ll receive a personalized review of your LinkedIn profile and resume, along with practical tips to make your online presence more compelling.
This module focuses on refining your networking strategies and elevator pitch, helping you make a lasting impression and confidently connect with industry peers.
Clients will also meet one-on-one with a Senior Executive Search Consultant from Gateway Executive Search. This session will offer valuable insights into the hiring landscape, industry trends, and the qualities employers seek in candidates. You’ll receive personalized feedback on your career trajectory and discuss effective strategies for navigating the job market. The session also includes a cover letter review and, if needed, a mock interview and to enhance your approach to job applications and interviews.
For a period of three months, Gateway’s senior executive search consultant will provide ongoing support to help you throughout your job search. This includes guidance on strategy, feedback on applications, and assistance with interview preparation. With this support, you’ll have the resources and confidence to make successful strides toward your next professional opportunity.

Ms. Spencer, founder of OnPoint Global Strategies & Coaching, has a deep understanding of the nuances and complexities of the global education sector with three decades of experience. She partners with clients to provide executive, leadership and career coaching, including those who work to move up, or to move out of the sector. She is trained by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and is a Qualified Administrator of the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI).
Dr. Winnie is a senior search consultant with Gateway Executive Search. She has over 30 years of experience in international higher education, having built or re-shaped comprehensive internationalization efforts at Smith College, Yale University, Rochester Institute of Technology, Harvard University, and Southern Methodist University. Current and recent graduates (within the previous 12 months) in international education or related fields may be eligible for a $250 discount. This investment provides you with tailored support throughout your job search journey, including personalized coaching modules, one-on-one consultations with industry experts, and three months of ongoing assistance. Stephen Appiah-Padi is an international educator with several years of teaching and administrative experience in both 4 and 2-year HEIs. An experienced global education practitioner-scholar, with a demonstrated history of success in the field.
Dr. Appiah-Padi has a Ph.D. from the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada in Educational Policy & Administration with a specialization in International/Intercultural Education.
At Northwestern College, he provided oversight in the administration of education abroad and international student services. In Lansing, Michigan, he first oversaw diversity and intercultural education at Lansing Community College, and later created the Center for International and Intercultural Education (CIIE) which merged intercultural engagement and international education programs of the institution, and he became its first director. Additionally, Dr. Appiah-Padi taught a course, “Diversity in the American Workplace”, to undergraduate management students of the College. In his current position, he provides leadership and vision in advancing strategic internationalization initiatives, including international partnerships and study abroad programs at Bucknell University.
Dr Appiah-Padi has created and facilitated several workshops for faculty and staff development in higher education and in business organizations. He has presented at several national and international conferences. In NAFSA, among several volunteer leadership positions, he has served as Dean of the Fundamentals of Intercultural Communication Workshop, the Leadership Development Committee member, Chair of the Africa Special Interest Group, and a Fellow of the Global Fellowship Program for mentoring emerging leaders of internationalization in African HEIs. He currently serves as a member of the NAFSA Board of Directors.
Dr. Rosa Almoguera has worked as an international educator for over twenty years. She was trained as a Hispanic Philologist at the Universidad Complutense, in Madrid, and did her M.A. at the University of Pennsylvania. Her Ph.D., from Universidad Complutense included a field study and edition of written balladry “Romancero”. During many years Rosa combined teaching and her role as a senior administrator at the Fundación Ortega-Marañón in Toledo, Spain. At the Foundation, Rosa directed and, in many cases created, programs for the University of Minnesota, Notre Dame, Princeton, Ohio State, Arcadia, and the University of Chicago. She has also been a visiting professor at the University of Minnesota, University of Portland, and Interamericana de Puerto Rico.
Beginning in 2016, Rosa works as an international education consultant for both public and private European and US higher education institutions. Rosa has been successful in developing new partnerships and programs, as well as helping improve already existing ones.
Rosa is a member of Forum and NAFSA and has presented with higher education professionals on innovative academic and research programming, STEM in study abroad and Nationalism in Europe. Rosa is currently completing the final Professional Certification from the Forum on Education Abroad.
